All dental assistants must complete a Board-approved 8-hour course in infection control prior to performing any basic supportive dental procedures involving potential exposure to blood, saliva, or other potentially infectious materials.

This is a two part course. The online course (4 hrs) will be emailed to you, and the classroom skills (4 hrs), will take place in San Jose on the date below!

This two part course CA Dental Board approved course combines an online course (4 hrs) , with a hands-on skills session (4 hrs) to ensure greater flexibility, protection, and safety measures in order to keep you safe.

Upon registration you will receive confirmation to your online course which must be completed before your hands on class.

Students will learn that Standard Precautions are a group of infection prevention practices that apply to all patients, regardless of suspected or confirmed infection status, in any setting in which healthcare is delivered as mandated by California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA). Discussions including hands-on procedures, e.g., cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing and critical items will be covered.

The certificate received from this course must be submitted to the board prior to taking the RDA examination.
