This two part course combines a live Zoom lecture with a hands-on skill session to ensure greater flexibility, protection, and social distancing measures in response to COVID-19. Upon registration you will receive confirmation to your Zoom lecture which will take place on Friday before your class. You will then attend your skills session the following day.
Prerequisites:
Each student must possess these necessary requirements for RDA licensure prior to enrolling in this course:
- CPR/BLS certification (click here)
- CA Dental Practice Act (click here)
- 8-Hr Infection Control (click here)
– or – posses an active RDA license.
Each student must satisfactorily demonstrate to the instructor clinical competency in infection control requirements prior to clinical instruction in coronal polishing.
Note: This is a 2-day course and ALL participants will need 3 patients.
The first day of the course will consist of didactic (lecture), coronal polish written exam and laboratory practices (on manikins). The second day of the course, you will need to bring your 3 patients. Each patient will be scheduled every 45 minutes to ensure proficiency.
All patients must meet the following acceptable criteria:
• Must be calculus free
• Must be 18 years of age or a with parent/guardian permission letter and signature
• Health History
Coronal Polish requirement forms will be issued for each patient.
12 CEU’s/hours will be provided after completion of course
The certificate received from this course must be submitted to the board prior to taking the RDA examination.

This was by far the most fun class. At first we used shaving cream to practice on the dummy and then I cleaned my patients teeth the days after! My family was happy about their free cleaning 🧼
